Historic

In practice, the activities with studies on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) started in 2002, with the project on Life Cycle Analysis of Ceramic Products from the Civil Construction Industry. The formalization of the Life Cycle Assessment Research Group at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) at the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) took place in 2006.

Mission

Our mission is to develop and disseminate knowledge in the field of environmental analysis and management of the life cycle of products, processes and services, based on research on LCA methodologies and applications in Brazil. For this, it has a multidisciplinary team of researchers. The research focuses on the development and improvement of the LCA methodology and its best application for Brazilian environmental conditions. 

About the logo

CICLOG is a contraction of the words group, management and cycle [of life].

The logo refers to a spiral, or cyclical process of a system. Likewise, it stylizes a representation of DNA, the basis of life, and the initials "A", "C" and "V" (ACV, Análise de Ciclo de Vida) and "L", "C" and "A "(LCA, from Life Cycle Assessment).

The forms adopted seek to remember polished and small elements, with a strong technological basis, as well as the colors chosen associate environment, engineering and technology.
